We brought it back slowly and by hand, keeping every old wall, so that it would feel exactly like Istria — only warm, bright and ready for the next two hundred years.

Our story
The house of our ancestors, given a second life.
Villa Tona has been home to our family for generations. In 2006 we decided it deserved to be saved, and between 2010 and 2014 we restored it the way Istrian houses were always built: the original stone walls kept, new beams, a new roof, old doorways and windows brought back.

How old is the house?
About 200 years. It has been home to our family for generations and was restored by hand between 2010 and 2014.
What was kept in the restoration?
All of the original stone walls. We added new beams and a new roof, restored the main entry and the old windows, and furnished the rooms with handmade pieces and restored antiques. The Croatian Ministry of Culture cited Villa Tona as an example of restoration of traditional architecture.
Can I rent Villa Tona for a holiday?
